Contrary to popular belief the regulations relating to conservatory planning permission are quite complex. It is our policy to confirm the facts relating to Conservatory Planning Permission on each individual project with the relevant local authority and obtain written confirmation for our clients records and peace of mind.
Typically a semi-detached or detached property will not require conservatory planning permission provided that the conservatory is;
- less than 70 cubic metres in volume
- is not closer to a highway than any part of the existing house
- the roof is translucent
- there is not a detached garage
- there has been no previous extensions to the original house
- development right have not been withdrawn
